Vice President and Secretary General of the Recycled Metals Branch, Wang Jiwei, delivered a major work report for the first half of the year

Wang Jiwei, Vice President and Secretary General of the Recycled Metals Branch, analyzed the industry situation in the first half of the year and presented a major work report for the first half of the year.

The information conveyed in the report indicates that there are both positive and negative trends in the industry, and there are significant differences in the operational status and profitability of enterprises in different fields such as copper, aluminum, lead, and zinc. The homogenization is severe, and there are many unfavorable factors affecting the market environment. The source of raw materials has shifted from foreign to domestic, and social capital has insufficient understanding of the industry.

In the first half of this year, the production and operation of China's non-ferrous metal industry was generally stable, with a highlight being the strategic emerging industries, including energy conservation and environmental protection, growing by 11% year-on-year. Among them, the environmental protection industry grew by 20% year-on-year, and the environmental service industry reached a growth rate of 30%, indicating that the contribution rate of energy conservation and environmental protection industries, including recycled metals, to the national economy is constantly increasing.

This year is the beginning year of the 13th Five Year Plan of the country. According to research and analysis by the branch, the real economy still needs to face a severe situation. The world economy is complex and ever-changing, and industries are in a critical period of transformation. Market norms, policy support, variable sources of raw materials, high production factor costs, intensified market competition, insufficient innovation capacity, and difficult and expensive financing are still issues that need to be vigorously addressed.

Faced with reality, the branch will change its work practices and strive to timely and accurately understand the problems encountered in the production and operation of the enterprise by integrating resources and integrating development. Efforts will be made to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, communicate with multiple resources, seek policy support, promote capital understanding of industries, promote new financial instruments, and invest advanced technology in industrial applications. Organize efforts to investigate the industrial situation of neighboring countries and explore ways for overseas cooperation in the transfer of some production capacity.
